New Panniers & Quick Fit/ Release Racks Fitted
« on: January 31, 2017, 10:27:16 PM »
Finally bought new panniers and quick fit/release racks from Motosport and they're excellent. Motosport are such a good company to deal with great communication delivered a day early and really well packaged.
The rack took 30 mins tops to fit and I'm no mechanic would have been quicker but i put the top catch plates on backwards and had to dismantle and redo properly. Panniers I bought are 33 litre which is more than big enough for my needs and aren't too wide and at half the price of BMW I 'm happy to chuck em in the corner of the shed for occasional use. The quick release racks literally come off or go back on in 30 seconds and only 2 small lugs left on the bike which are hardly visible.
Couple of pics Sorry in 3 posts as won't allow all pics in one post  :087:
Panniers at my mates workshop now having the outer lids painted Racing Red to match the bike.

Those side cases look really nice. Do they stick out beyond the handlebars did you happen to notice? Also, which model Givi cases are they? I like that you can remove the mounts as well as the bags since I would only use them occasionally.

Thanks,
Marc

They are the Givi V35 and Kappa also make an identical set (K33). I have a set of the Kappa's sitting in my garage from a previous bike so I just need the quick release rack. I think it is the Givi PLXR5119.

Your post spurred me on to ordering the PLXR5119 QD racks for my own bike. I was going to sell the Kappas when I sold my old Crosstourer but never got round to it. I am so glad I didn't :002:

Have to say I'm very happy its a neat solution for anyone who doesn't want to pay BMW prices or want panniers permanently fitted plus the benefit of no ugly scaffolding left on the bike.
Will post another pic when they're painted.

Thanks,
Marc

Think they're slightly narrower than the bars but they're in the shop being painted at  the moment, when they come back in a few days I'll post a pic and the measurements.
