On the ones I know of, they used RR heads & cams on XR engine blocks. So essentially RR valve trains on lower compression XR engines.

The Gen-1 R & XR engines are identical.

The RR has titanium inlet and exhaust valves. They use different cams. The inlet springs on the RR are different....exhaust springs are the same as the R & XR.

Spring retainers, collets and rockers are identical on all three bikes..

Pistons are different on the RR too as the compression ratio is higher on the RR, 13.0:1 as opposed to 12.0:1 on the R & XR. RR pistons are supplied by Mahle, XR & R pistons are supplied by Asso.

Everything else engine wise is essentially the same on all three bikes.

Smithy.

if they are using the R/RR valvetrain that it makes sense that its 'healthy'.

My late 2023 bike (currently sporting 30 miles from new) doesn't lower to MIN, either. I have also read that the adjustment from MIN to AUTO requires the bike to have travelled some distance for the ECU to be able to make the adjustment (which makes sense), but I see no movement from AUTO to MIN at all. I might ask a hefty friend to re-run the test, but it shouldn't need a heavy person to trigger it as the bike is presumably winding out all the preload so there should be some movement?

I suspect the ride height sensor has got confused and needs to be reset. I recall there were issues back in the early days of the GS LC where one end of the ride height sensor arm was slightly disconnected, preventing any change in preload. It’s worth a look?

I'll check it

Thank you!

I'm riding everytime on auto. If in the garaje I put the suspension in "Min" it doesn't start lowering... I don't know if this is an issue and malfunction or not...

Yep, something is not correct. Consider a trip to the BMW Motorrad Dealership fore evaluation/correction or consider a 911WiFi to reset the rear spring suspension.

Best,

Hi Dixy,

Thanks! I’m planning to be out and about quite a lot so might see you around. We’ve got some nice places to visit up our way!

As I understand it, adjusting FROM Auto should result in the suspension changing immediately (as you’re going to Max or Min) but adjusting TO Auto only kicks in once you’ve been riding for a few minutes as the suspension needs input to work out where to settle based on the load and road conditions.

So if you are in Auto and select Min and the suspension doesn’t start to lower there may be an issue? Mine does. Not sure whether the ride height sensor requires the bike to be on level ground.

Thanks for answering.
