Just picked up a 2016 with only 5800 miles!

I've had a CBR600 for the past 8 years (hence the username) which finally kicked the bucket. I wanted a sports bike that's more comfortable than the track-bred models and this seems to be the answer. And I love my BMW 3-series lol.

What are good seat options? The bike has the low seat and I'm a tall guy so I'd like to get some more padding underneath me!

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum YellowCBR. If you are tall and a low seat you probably cannot go wrong with a standard seat. Plenty of threads on here about it. For extra comfort I swear by my Airhawk.

    Hello

Seat wise..., I got a mate to buy my X/R who has a surname with way more pull than mine  :002:, so it never came with the stock seat, told e’m i didn’t want it and started with the HP version which i’d Suggest is a good start point for you, I bought two others after that secondhand custom versions off eBay, the second one has turned into a keeper, there’s a recent thread on here about aftermarket wheels and theirs a photo of my bike with the said seat.

If you don't like the low seat, why not re upholster it with some extra foam. As you don't have 'reach the ground' issues, you can afford to build it up a bit with extra padding, which should mean extra comfort. Raise the front a bit to avoid that 'nuts in the tank feeling', and you could end up with something better than the stock seats. In my experience, these are not great, and can be expensive.
If you un-staple the cover there is plenty of room for extra foam, but you will need a decent staple gun to re-fix. Or take it to a professional upholstery shop.
Either way, what's to lose?  :007:
Use the search function on this forum, as there have been a few posts giving details.
